ஷ்யாவின் பயோன்-எம் (Bion-M) எண் 2 என்ற உயிரியல் செயற்கைக்கோள் மூலம் விண்வெளிக்கு அனுப்பப்பட்ட 75 எலிகளில் 10 எலிகள் உயிரிழந்தன.
விண்வெளிப் பயணத்தின்போது விண்வெளி வீரர்களுக்கு ஏற்படும் உயிரியல் தாக்கங்கள் பற்றிய துல்லியமான தகவல்களைப் பெறுவதற்காக இத்திட்டம் செயல்படுத்தப்பட்டது.
30 நாட்கள் சுற்றுப்பாதையில் இருந்த 65 எலிகள் வெற்றிகரமாக பூமி திரும்பின.
Ten out of 75 mice sent to space on Russia’s Bion-M No. 2 biological satellite died during the mission, which was designed to gather precise data on the biological effects of space travel on astronauts. The remaining 65 mice successfully returned to Earth after 30 days in orbit.
