சட்டவிரோதமாக நாட்டுக்குள் கொண்டுவரப்பட்ட 91 பறவைகளை ஏற்றிச் சென்ற டிங்கி படகுடன் இரண்டு சந்தேக நபர்களைக் கடற்படையினர் கைது செய்துள்ளனர்.
மன்னார், பேசாலை, சிரிதோப்பு கடற்கரைப் பகுதியில் கடற்படையினர் மேற்கொண்ட ஒரு விசேட தேடுதல் நடவடிக்கையின்போது இவர்கள் கைது செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளனர்.
கைப்பற்றப்பட்ட படகில் இருந்து 72 புறாக்களையும், 19 சேவல்களையும் கடற்படையினர் மீட்டுள்ளனர். கைது செய்யப்பட்ட சந்தேக நபர்கள் 17 மற்றும் 52 வயதுடையவர்கள் என்றும், அவர்கள் பேசாலை மற்றும் மன்னார் பகுதிகளைச் சேர்ந்தவர்கள் என்றும் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
சந்தேக நபர்களுடன், டிங்கி படகு மற்றும் பறவைகள் மேலதிக சட்ட நடவடிக்கைகளுக்காக பேசாலை பொலிஸ் நிலையத்தில் ஒப்படைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன.
The Sri Lanka Navy has arrested two individuals and seized a dinghy boat carrying 91 birds that were illegally brought into the country. The arrest was made during a special search operation in the Pesalai Sirithoppu beach area of Mannar. The seized birds include 72 pigeons and 19 roosters. The suspects, aged 17 and 52 and from Pesalai and Mannar, along with the boat and the birds, have been handed over to the Pesalai Police for further legal action.
