மஹியங்கனை – கிராதுருக்கோட்டை பிரதான வீதியில் உள்ள சொரபோர வெவ முதலாம் தூண் பகுதியில் யாத்திரீகர்களை ஏற்றிச் சென்ற வேன் ஒன்று வீதியை விட்டு விலகி மரத்தில் மோதி விபத்துக்குள்ளானதில் 11 பேர் காயம்.
இந்த விபத்து நேற்று (26) இரவு 11 மணியளவில் நிகழ்ந்துள்ளது. விபத்தில் வேனில் பயணித்த 11 பேரும் காயமடைந்து மஹியங்கனை வைத்தியசாலை மற்றும் பதுளை வைத்தியசாலைகளில் அனுமதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளனர்.
பதுளைப் பகுதியைச் சேர்ந்த இந்த யாத்திரீகர்கள் அனுராதபுரத்திற்குச் சென்று திரும்பிக் கொண்டிருந்தபோதே இந்த விபத்து ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது.
காயமடைந்தவர்களில் 6 பேர் பதுளை வைத்தியசாலையிலும், 5 பேர் மஹியங்கனை வைத்தியசாலையிலும் சிகிச்சை பெற்று வரும் நிலையில், பொலிஸார் மேலதிக விசாரணைகளை மேற்கொண்டு வருகின்றனர்.

Eleven pilgrims were injured when the van they were traveling in veered off the road and crashed into a tree near the Sorabora Wewa First Pillar on the Mahiyanganaya-Giradurukotte main road yesterday (26th) around 11 PM. The victims, who are from the Badulla area and were returning from Anuradhapura, have been admitted to the Badulla and Mahiyanganaya hospitals for treatment. Police are conducting further investigations into the accident.
