பொகவந்தலாவை காவல்துறைப் பிரிவுக்குட்பட்ட கெம்பியன் லின்ஃபோர்ட் பகுதியில் தொழிலாளி ஒருவர் (26) குளவிக் கொட்டுக்கு இலக்காகி உயிரிழந்துள்ளார்.
மரமொன்றில் கட்டப்பட்டிருந்த குளவிக் கூட்டை பறவை ஒன்று தாக்கியதைத் தொடர்ந்து அவர் குளவிக் கொட்டுக்கு இலக்கானதாக முதற்கட்ட விசாரணைகளில் தெரியவந்துள்ளது.
கெம்பியன் லின்ஃபோர்ட் பகுதியைச் சேர்ந்த, 69 வயதான 3 பிள்ளைகளின் தந்தையே சம்பவத்தில் உயிரிழந்துள்ளார்.
உயிரிழந்தவரின் உடலம் பிரேதப் பரிசோதனைக்காக டிக்கோயா ஆதார மருத்துவமனையின் விசேட சட்ட வைத்திய அதிகாரியிடம் ஒப்படைக்கப்படவுள்ளதாக பொகவந்தலாவை வைத்தியசாலை வட்டாரங்கள் தெரிவிக்கின்றன.
A 69-year-old father of three, a laborer from the Campian Linford area within the Bogawantalawa Police Division, died today (the 26th) after being attacked by wasps. Initial investigations suggest that he was stung after a bird struck a wasp nest built on a tree. Hospital sources indicate that the deceased’s body will be handed over to the Special Judicial Medical Officer at the Dickoya Base Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
