கொழும்பு மற்றும் அதனை அண்மித்த நகரங்களில் போதைக்கு அடிமையாகும் பெண்களின் எண்ணிக்கை துரிதமாக அதிகரித்து வருவதாக சிறுவர் மற்றும் பெண்கள் விவகார அமைச்சு கவலையை வெளியிட்டுள்ளது.
அண்மைய தகவல்களின் அடிப்படையில், அதிக எண்ணிக்கையிலான இளம் பெண்களும் யுவதிகளும் பல்வேறு போதைப் பொருட்களுக்கு அடிமையாவதைக் காட்டுவதாக அமைச்சர் சரோஜா சாவித்திரி பவுல்ராஜ் தெரிவித்தார்.
மறுவாழ்வு நடவடிக்கை
காவல்துறை, போதைப்பொருள் தடுப்பு பிரிவுகள் மற்றும் தேசிய அபாயகர ஔடதங்கள் கட்டுப்பாட்டுச் சபை ஆகியவற்றின் தரவுகளின்படி, பெண்களிடையே ‘ஐஸ்’ (மெத்தம்பேட்டமைன்), மாத்திரைகள், மதுபானம் மற்றும் சிகரெட் ஆகியவற்றின் பாவனையின் பயன்பாடு குறிப்பிடத்தக்க அளவில் அதிகரித்துள்ளதாகத் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
அதேவேளை, கர்ப்பிணிப் பெண்கள் போதைக்கு அடிமையாதல், அவர்களின் குழந்தைகளின் அறிவுசார் மற்றும் உடல் வளர்ச்சிக்கு ஒரு பாரிய அச்சுறுத்தலை ஏற்படுத்துவதாகவும் அமைச்சர் எச்சரித்தார்.
இந்த பிரச்சினையை எதிர்கொள்வதற்கும், தேவையான ஆதரவு மற்றும் மறுவாழ்வு நடவடிக்கைகளை வழங்குவதற்கும் அமைச்சு ஏற்கனவே ஒரு விசேட வேலைத்திட்டத்தை உருவாக்கத் தொடங்கியுள்ளதாகவும் அமைச்சர் சரோஜா சாவித்திரி பவுல்ராஜ் கூறினார்.
The Ministry of Child and Women Affairs has expressed concern over the rapid increase in the number of women addicted to drugs in Colombo and its suburbs.
Minister Saroja Savithri Paulraj stated that recent data indicates a significant number of young women and girls are becoming addicted to various substances. Data from the Police, Anti-Narcotics Bureaus, and the National Dangerous Drugs Control Board (NDDCB) shows a notable rise in the use of ‘Ice’ (Methamphetamine), pills, alcohol, and cigarettes among females.
The Minister also warned that pregnant women’s drug addiction poses a major threat to the intellectual and physical development of their children. To tackle this issue and provide necessary support and rehabilitation, the Ministry has already initiated the development of a special program.
