கற்பிட்டி உச்சமுனை களப்பு பகுதியில் பெருந்தொகையான கேரளக் கஞ்சா கைப்பற்றப்பட்டுள்ளதாக கடற்படையினர் தெரிவித்துள்ளனர்.
‘முழு நாடுமே ஒன்றாக’ தேசிய செயற்பாடு மற்றும் ‘போதையில்லா நாடு – ஆரோக்கியமான பிரஜைகள் வாழ்க்கை’ என்ற தொலைநோக்குப் பார்வைக்கு இணங்க, எதிர்கால சந்ததியினரை போதைப்பொருள் அச்சுறுத்தலிலிருந்து விடுவிக்கும் தேசியப் பணிக்கு பங்களிக்கும் கடற்படை, நாட்டைச் சுற்றியுள்ள கடற்கரை மற்றும் உள்ளூர் நீர்நிலைகளைத் தொடர்ந்து கண்காணித்து போதைப்பொருள் சோதனை நடவடிக்கைகளை மேற்கொள்கிறது.
இதன்படி, கற்பிட்டி உச்சமுனை களப்பு மற்றும் கற்பிட்டி கடற்கரைப் பகுதியில் வடமேற்கு கடற்படைக் கட்டளையின் இலங்கை கடற்படை கப்பல் விஜயவின் படகுகளால் (நவம்பர் 04) நடத்தப்பட்ட சிறப்புத் தேடுதல் நடவடிக்கையின் போது, கடலோரப் பகுதியில் இரண்டு சந்தேகத்திற்கிடமான டிங்கிகள் கண்காணிக்கப்பட்டு பரிசோதனைக்கு உட்படுத்தப்பட்டன.
இதன்போது, குறித்த டிங்கி இயந்திரப் படகுகளில் பதினெட்டு பொதிகளில் மறைத்து வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்த சுமார் 38 கிலோகிராம் கஞ்சா தொகையுடன் இரண்டு டிங்கி இயந்திர படகுகளும் கைப்பற்றப்பட்டன.
மேலும், இந்த நடவடிக்கையின் மூலம் கடற்படையால் கைப்பற்றப்பட்ட கேரளக் கஞ்சாவின் மதிப்பு எட்டு மில்லியன் ரூபாய்க்கும் அதிகமாக இருக்கும் என்று நம்பப்படுகிறது.
இவ்வாறு கடற்படையினரால் கைப்பற்றப்பட்ட கேரளக் கஞ்சா மற்றும் டிங்கி படகுகள் என்பன மேலதிக சட்ட நடவடிக்கைகளுக்காக புத்தளம் பொலிஸ் போதைப்பொருள் தடுப்பு பணியகத்திடம் ஒப்படைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதாகவும் கடற்படையினர் தெரிவித்துள்ளனர்.
The Navy reported the seizure of a large quantity of Kerala Ganja (Cannabis) in the Uchchamunai Lagoon area of Kalpitiya.
As part of the Navy’s ongoing anti-drug operations, conducted in line with the “Whole Country Together” national operation and the vision of a “Drug-Free Nation – Healthy Citizens’ Life,” the Northwestern Naval Command’s patrol boats, attached to SLNS Vijaya, conducted a special search operation yesterday (November 04) in the Kalpitiya Uchchamunai Lagoon and Kalpitiya coastal area.
During the operation, two suspicious dinghy boats were intercepted and inspected. The Navy seized approximately 38 kilograms of Cannabis, concealed in eighteen packages within the two dinghy boats, which were also taken into custody.
The estimated street value of the Kerala Ganja seized is believed to be over eight million rupees. The seized drugs and dinghy boats have been handed over to the Puttalam Police Narcotics Bureau for further legal action.
