குறித்த விடுதியில் விருந்துபசார நிகழ்வு ஒன்று நடந்து கொண்டிருந்த போது திடீரென தீப்பரவல் ஏற்பட்டது. தீப்பரவலால் விடுதியில் இடம்பெற்ற விருந்துபசார நிகழ்வு சிறிதுநேரம் புகைமண்டலமாகியது.
அதனையடுத்து கோட்டை மாநகர சபையின் இரண்டு தீயணைப்பு வாகனங்கள் தகவலறிந்து சம்பவ இடத்திற்கு விரைந்தன. அதன்பின்னர் விடுதியில் ஏற்பட்ட தீயைக் கட்டுப்பாட்டுக்குள் கொண்டு வந்ததாகத் தெரிவிக்கப்படுகின்றது.
தீ விபத்தின் போது எவருக்கும் எந்தவித ஆபத்துக்களும் இடம் பெறவில்லை எனவும் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டது. விடுதியில் அதுவும் விருந்துபசாரத்தின் போது தீப்பரவல் ஏற்பட்டதால் விடுதி முழுவதிலும் சற்றுநேரம் பதற்றச் சூழல் உருவாகியது.
தீ விபத்து தொடர்பான விசாரணைகள் பொலிஸாரால் ஆரம்பிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதாகவும் தெரிவிக்கப்படுகின்றது.
A sudden fire broke out at a famous private luxury hotel located in the Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte area, causing the entire venue to be engulfed in smoke. The fire incident occurred last night.
