யாழ்ப்பாணத்தில் வழிப்பறி கொள்ளையில் ஈடுபட்ட குற்றச்சாட்டில் தேடப்பட்டு வந்த நபர் உள்ளிட்ட ஆறு பேர் ‘ஐஸ்’ (Ice) ரக போதைப்பொருளுடன் கைது செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளனர்.
யாழ்ப்பாணப் பொலிஸாருக்குக் கிடைத்த தகவலின் அடிப்படையில், ‘ஐஸ்’ போதைப்பொருளை தம்வசம் வைத்திருந்த குற்றச்சாட்டில் குறித்த ஆறு பேரும் கைதான நிலையில், அவர்கள் பொலிஸாரால் தடுத்து வைத்து விசாரிக்கப்பட்டு வருகின்றனர்.
அதன் போது குறித்த ஆறு பேரில் ஒருவர் யாழ்ப்பாண நகர் பகுதியில் இடம்பெற்ற வழிப்பறிக் கொள்ளை சம்பவத்துடன் தொடர்புடையவர் என்பது தெரியவந்துள்ளது.
அவரிடம் முன்னெடுக்கப்பட்ட மேலதிக விசாரணைகளின் போது, கொள்ளையடிக்கப்பட்ட தங்கச் சங்கிலி மற்றும் கொள்ளைக்குப் பயன்படுத்திய இரண்டு மோட்டார் சைக்கிள்கள் என்பனவற்றையும் பொலிஸார் மீட்டுள்ளனர்.
Six individuals, including one person who was wanted in connection with a chain-snatching robbery in Jaffna, have been arrested for possession of ‘Ice’ (Crystal Methamphetamine).
Based on information received by the Jaffna Police, the six suspects were initially detained for possessing the drug and are currently being interrogated. During the investigation, police discovered that one of the six was involved in a chain-snatching incident in the Jaffna town area.
Further inquiries led police to recover the stolen gold chain and two motorcycles that were used in the robbery. The Jaffna Police are continuing their investigations.
