யாழ்ப்பாணத்தில் இளைஞன் ஒருவனை, தாயின் கண் முன் நிர்வாணமாக்கி, சித்திரவதைக்கு உள்ளாக்கிய சம்பவத்துடன் தொடர்புடைய பிரதான சந்தேகநபர், 11 மாதங்களுக்குப் பின்னர் கைது செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளார்.
குறித்த சந்தேகநபரை கைது செய்வதற்குப் பொலிஸார் பல தடவைகள் முயன்ற போதிலும், வடமாகாண பொலிஸ் உயர் அதிகாரிகளின் தலையீடுகள் காரணமாக கைது செய்ய முடியாமல் பொலிஸார் திண்டாடி வந்த நிலையில், நேற்றைய தினம் (புதன்கிழமை, நவம்பர் 05) திருநெல்வேலி பகுதியில் உள்ள தனியார் மருத்துவமனையில் சிகிச்சை பெற்று வரும் நபர் ஒருவரைச் சந்தேகநபர் பார்வையிட வந்த வேளை பொலிஸ் புலனாய்வுத் துறையினரால் கைது செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளார்.
கைது செய்யப்பட்ட நபரை கோப்பாய் பொலிஸ் நிலையத்தில் தடுத்து வைத்து விசாரணைகளை முன்னெடுத்து வரும் பொலிஸார், இன்றைய தினம் (வியாழக்கிழமை) யாழ். நீதவான் நீதிமன்றில் முற்படுத்த நடவடிக்கை எடுத்துள்ளனர்.

The main suspect involved in the shocking incident in Jaffna, where a youth was stripped naked and tortured in front of his mother, has been arrested after 11 months.
Despite multiple attempts to arrest the suspect, police faced difficulties due to the alleged interference of senior police officials in the Northern Province. The suspect was finally apprehended by the Police Intelligence Unit yesterday (Wednesday, November 05) when he visited a private hospital patient in the Thirunelveli area.
The arrested individual is currently being detained and interrogated at the Kopay Police Station and is scheduled to be produced before the Jaffna Magistrate’s Court today (Thursday).
It is reported that close ties existed between the main suspect and high-ranking police officials in the North, leading to obstructions in the arrest process. The report also highlights a past instance where a police team, acting in civil clothes and using a private trishaw to arrest the suspect, was subsequently pressured through an inquiry regarding their use of the private vehicle after the suspect had managed to escape.
Background: The incident took place on January 20th due to a dispute between two families, where a youth from the Inuvil area was stripped, tortured, tied up, and severely beaten in front of his mother.
