நவம்பர் 22 ஆம் திகதியளவில் தென்கிழக்கு வங்காள விரிகுடாவில் ஒரு புதிய குறைந்த அழுத்தப் பிரதேசம் உருவாகக் கூடிய சாத்தியம் காணப்படுவதாக வளிமண்டலவியல் திணைக்களம் எதிர்வு கூறியுள்ளது.
இந்தக் குறைந்த அழுத்தப் பிரதேசம் மேலும் வலுவடைந்து கொண்டு, இலங்கையின் வடக்கு கரையோரத்தை அண்டியதாக நகரக் கூடிய சாத்தியம் காணப்படுகின்றது.
இவ்விடயம் தொடர்பாக வளிமண்டலவியல் திணைக்களத்தால் வழங்கப்படும் எதிர்கால முன்னறிவிப்புகள் மற்றும் அறிக்கைகள் தொடர்பாகப் பொதுமக்கள் அவதானமாக இருக்குமாறு வேண்டிக் கொள்ளப்படுகிறீர்கள்.

The Department of Meteorology has forecasted the possible formation of a new low-pressure area over the Southeast Bay of Bengal around November 22nd. This low-pressure system is likely to further intensify and move close to the Northern coast of Sri Lanka.

Due to this development, rain is expected at frequent intervals in the Northern and North Central provinces, and the Trincomalee district. Many other parts of the country may experience rain or thundershowers after 1:00 PM. Misty conditions are anticipated in some areas of the Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva, Western, and Southern provinces during the early morning. The public is advised to take adequate precautions against temporary strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
