பிலிப்பைன்ஸ் நாட்டைத் தாக்கிய ‘கல்மேகி’ (Kalmaegi) என்ற சூறாவளி காரணமாக பெய்த கனமழையுடன் ஏற்பட்ட வெள்ளப் பெருக்கில் சிக்கி 58 பேருக்கு மேற்பட்டோர் உயிரிழந்துள்ளனர்.
வெள்ளத்தில் சிக்கி சுமார் 300 வீடுகள் சேதம் அடைந்தன. பல கார்கள் வெள்ள நீரில் அடித்துச் செல்லப்பட்டன. பல இடங்களில் மின்சாரம் துண்டிக்கப்பட்டது மற்றும் தொலைத்தொடர்பு சேவைகள் பாதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன.
சூறாவளி காரணமாக 180க்கும் மேற்பட்ட விமானங்கள் ரத்து செய்யப்பட்டன. வெள்ள மீட்புப் பணிக்காகச் சென்ற வானூர்தி (Aircraft) ஒன்று மோசமான வானிலையால் விழுந்து நொறுங்கியது பரபரப்பை ஏற்படுத்தியது.
இந்தச் சூறாவளி நாளை (நவம்பர் 06) இரவு வியட்நாமின் மத்தியப் பகுதிகளில் கரையைக் கடக்கும் என்று கணிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இதனையடுத்து வியட்நாம் அரசாங்கம் முன்னெச்சரிக்கை நடவடிக்கைகளை மேற்கொண்டு வருகிறது.
The ‘Kalmaegi’ Typhoon that struck the Philippines has caused devastating floods due to heavy rainfall, resulting in over 58 deaths.
Approximately 300 houses were damaged by the floods, and numerous cars were washed away. Power supply and telecommunication services have been disrupted in many areas. Over 180 flights were cancelled due to the typhoon. A separate incident created panic when an aircraft sent for flood rescue operations crashed due to poor weather conditions.
The typhoon is predicted to cross the coast of Central Vietnam tomorrow evening (November 06), and the Vietnamese government is taking precautionary measures.
